Description: CHILD CARE INITIATIVE PROJECT/FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER PROJECT COORDINATOR ABOUT THE NETWORK: The California Child Care Resource and Referral Network (Network) is a nationally recognized non-profit organization established in 1980 that works to address the needs of parents and child care providers throughout the state. Working with 61 local member agencies, the Network is involved in a variety of activities and projects which assist child care providers in serving their communities, informing parents and the general public about quality child care, and encouraging positive policy changes on the local, state and federal levels. ABOUT THE PROJECT: The CCIP-FRC Collaborative Project represents an innovative collaboration between community-based Family Resource Centers (FRC's) and local child care Resource and Referral agencies (R&R's), with support from the Network and Family Support California. The collaboration integrates the FRC's employment, training and family support efforts with the R&R's expertise in developing and expanding new child care resources to help parents fully understand and access all available child care options, and to create new child care opportunities for communities. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The CCIP-FRC Project Coordinator plays a key role between the Network and its partnering agencies, and contributes to the overall direction of the project. The position monitors contract agreements, which work to deliver training to child care providers across the state. This work includes project coordination and tracking, facilitating meetings of local agencies delivering services to providers, and working with teams to advance the child development field. PRIMARY DUTIES:
1. Prepares grants and assists the CCIP-FRC Partners with fundraising to accomplish program goals. Serves as liaison with state and private funders, and prepares all required reports related to funding.
2. Assists CCIP-FRC Partners with the implementation of the CCIP-FRC model and training curricula, integrating family support principles into CCIP trainings.
3. Oversees and facilitates the recruitment, training, and retention of family child care providers by the CCIP-FRC Partners.
4. Facilitates the further integration of community services. Fosters and grows the project and the Partnership.
5. Convenes and facilitates quarterly Partner meetings and maintains records of meetings and communications pertaining to the program.
6. Conducts site visits on a regular basis, and as needed, to the CCIP-FRC sites.
7. Represents the CCIP-FRC program at local, state, and national conferences and workshops.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED: Ideal candidates possess an understanding of cross-disciplinary collaborations and integrated services, as well as specific knowledge and experience in:
* The child care industry, issues facing the field, and provider recruitment, training and retention issues
* Family resource centers, family support principles, and issues facing the field
* TANF recipient issues and work acculturation
* Community organizing and advocacy
* Project implementation and expansion
* Nonprofit fundraisingJOB QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bilingual/Bicultural Spanish candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
* Experienced with project management including overseeing multi-site projects, and monitoring contracts and grants
* Demonstrated ability to effectively listen, mediate and resolve complaints
* Able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing for a variety of audiences
* Excellent group facilitation skills, including the ability to present the program in workshops, etc.
* Knowledge of adult learning styles and training experience
* Good problem-solving, decision-making and leadership abilities
* Understanding of child care issues and family support services
* Socioeconomic awareness of low-income populations
* Familiarity and experience with diverse communities, awareness of cultural differences
* B.A. required, or substantial experience
