Description: Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following under the supervision of the Health/Mental Health Coordinators and Service Area Coordinator: Work with Directors and Coordinators to see that all medical papers are in order and complete in all children's files including immunizations and all medical, dental, assessments and instructions; Work in interdisciplinary/cross service area team for in-take process needs and delivering of services; Determine developmental height and weight and head indices of each EHS child throughout the year and chart these individually and by category for display; Maintain compliance with Health/Mental Health Service Area Regulations & Performance Standards for EHS; Attend regular EHS and Head Start meetings and assist with preparation of end-of-month reports and enrollment/intake as necessary; Work with a team of professionals in serving EHS families including the Service Area Coordinator, Director, EHS teachers and staff, and Health/Mental Health Coordinator; Identify and develop training for EHS staff; Order health supplies and first-aid equipment in conjunction with Health/Mental Health Coordinator and Service Area Coordinator; Liaison with City Head Start Health officials and serve on the Health Advisory Council of the EHS Liaison with community health/mental health agencies in collaborative spirit to provide services to EHS families.
Requirements: Related medical certification or equivalent experience in health care field; Minimum 1-year experience working with children and families; Awareness of safe lifting techniques for lifting children, supplies and furnishings and commitment to using preventative health measure in the classroom to prevent the spread of disease and ability to drive families only as absolutely necessary (insurance and California Driver s License on file). Caring compassionate approach to working with children and families; Ability to work harmoniously in a multicultural team; Bilingual Spanish/English or Asian/English may be preferred.
